There Can Be Only One – The Podcast 107: “Skyscraper”

[Explicit language]

TCBOO-Podcast-logoTwo movies titled Skyscraper enter, only one will leave (with that title) as Herman “OmegaPrime” Davis and Robert Rau watch The Rock save his family from a murderous building — and an Anna Nicole Smith soft core porn flick — to see which movie should be called Skyscraper.

This is the second movie starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson we’ve featured this year, and just like the first entry, this film is a passable action movie because of The Rock. The former WWE star plays himself, minus a leg to make things fair, as a security expert who has to save his family from terrorists in a huge building. And just like the title promises, this building his huge. Not as big as The Rock, but close enough.

The second movie was a Cinemax classic, starring billionaire trophy wife and reality star Anna Nicole Smith. Here she tries to act her way out of her own terrorist situation, with various nude scenes thrown in. While also involving a building, the main focus isn’t the structure, but how little the director trusted Anna Nicole to carry a scene while fully clothed.

This one won’t be a toughie, but are any of these movies good enough to call itself Skyscraper? Listen if you dare.
