PSC Candidate Lenar Whitney Reasserts Solar Power a Hoax

Former state legislator, former congressional candidate, and former dance school owner Lenar Whitney reaffirmed her belief that the concept of harnessing power from the sun is nothing more than a ruse to bilk billions of dollars that would otherwise go to the petroleum industry.

Whitney reasserted her conspiratorial views on solar power after qualifying as a candidate to fill the Public Service Commission vacancy left by Scott Angelle.

“In my highly successful 2014 bid for fifth place in the 6th Congressional District race, I said that solar power is perhaps the greatest deception in the history of mankind,” Whitney told Baton Rouge NPR affiliate WRKF. “Decades later, I say it’s an even greater deception.”

“The job of the PSC is to protect the oil and gas companies from the dangerous lies perpetrated by the liberals in this country who want us to believe we can make an extension cord long enough to reach the sun.”

The Houma resident reiterated her commitment to fight the “big government lie that we can get free energy from outer space,” adding that if she wins the special election for PSC District 2 this fall, she would vote accordingly.

“The job of the PSC is to protect the oil and gas companies from the dangerous lies perpetrated by the liberals in this country who want us to believe we can make an extension cord long enough to reach the sun, much less find someone willing to get close enough to plug it in,” Whitney explained.

The Republican National Committee member then pulled out a lightbulb, held it to the sun, and noted, “See, it doesn’t light up. Solar power is fake news.”
