YOUR VOICES: David Vitter Alludes to His Hooker Scandal in a New TV Ad. What Say You?

After years of avoiding the issue, Republican candidate for governor David Vitter alluded to his 2007 prostitution scandal this week in a new television ad originally titled “Hard Times.” In the 30-second spot (now retitled “Difficult Times”) released less than two weeks before Sen. Vitter’s runoff election against Democratic state Rep. John Bel Edwards, Vitter says, “Fifteen years ago, I failed my family, but found forgiveness and love. I learned that our falls aren’t what define us but rather how we get up, accept responsibility, and earn redemption.”
