Louisiana Republican U.S. Sen. David Vitter said he plans to watch the controversial movie The Interview, and he urged his supporters to do the same as a show of defiance against terrorists whose threats initially prompted Sony Pictures to cancel the film’s release. In a campaign email sent Friday, the gubernatorial candidate said watching the film – which depicts Seth Rogen and James Franco as a pair of journalists recruited by the CIA to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-un – is a chance for Americans to “stand up to the North Korean dictatorship and in defense of freedom.”
