The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council unanimously voted in favor of a symbolic resolution expressing opposition to changing the current federal air quality standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Citing concerns about the impact it could have on area businesses, the Metro Council universally backed Councilman Buddy Amoroso’s measure decrying the EPA’s anticipated proposition to lower acceptable ozone air pollution levels from 75 parts per billion to between 60 ppb and 70 ppb.
