QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Who Should Be the Next Head of CATS?


Isaiah Marshall finally resigned last week as Chairman of the troubled Capital Area Transit System Board after numerous area leaders – including Metro Council members and Mayor-President Kip Holden – urged him to step down.

The calls for Marshall to give it up came amid myriad scandals and accusations involving a member of the board he supposedly led.

Now some city leaders are saying all members of the board should resign and hope to get reappointed. In other words, they want CATS to start from scratch. (Yeah, we went there.)

In any event, we’d say whoever takes over as CATS chairman will have the unenviable task of leading the system back to a state of respectability, but that assumes it was ever respectable.

With that in mind, we’ve come up with some possible candidates for the job:
