If there’s one thing that excites Baton Rouge business leaders more than proposed high-dollar developments, it’s hype surrounding proposed high-dollar developments. And the local media seem more than willing to accommodate their brand of excitement.

Hardly a week goes by without Daily-Report.com sending out an update mentioning some project that it’s been talking about as coming to the Baton Rouge region for weeks, months, or even years.

Discussions. Negotiations. Feasibility studies. More feasibility studies. After a while, you can’t help but wonder if the hullabaloo is nothing but smoke getting blown up our collective asses by economic cheerleaders, which begs our Question of the Week …
