Kevin Hart got tanked ... then he almost got REALLY tanked.

BACS Honorable Mention: Kevin Hart

Blood-Alcohol-Championship-SeriesMany young black comics try to emulate the great Richard Pryor. This weekend, though, actor-comedian Kevin Hart nearly replaced emulation with immolation.

The 32-year-old Hart reportedly came close to driving his black Mercedes into the only thing on the road more flammable than his liver: a tanker truck.

California Highway Patrol officers said they spotted Hart driving erratically, “going 90 mph,” and witnessed him almost hit “a gas tanker trunk” on a freeway just blocks from Hart’s home around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

The CHP pulled over the funnyman who showed “objective signs of intoxication” and failed to “perform field sobriety tests.” A female passenger in Hart’s car was sent home in a taxi.

Hart was arrested and booked into the Van Nuys jail on a count of misdemeanor driving under the influence, but was released later that same day after posting a $5,000 bond.

At least Richard Pryor was already a comedy legend when he set himself on fire. The closest Hart’s come to legendary status is his legendarily lackluster job hosting Saturday Night Live last month.

Maybe he thought hitting a fuel truck with a passenger in his car would be the easiest way he could “kill” as a comedian. After all, most comics live for comedy routines in which they “burn that bitch up.”

In any case, it wouldn’t have been the first time a mediocre comic threw a roast for himself.RedShtick-Top-ColumnStop
